Dániel Virosztek works in functional analysis with expertise in quantum information theory. Currently, he is interested in the geometric aspects of classical and quantum optimal transport.
He got his Ph.D. in 2016 at TU Budapest and he spent four years (2017-2021) as a postdoc at IST Austria, in László Erdős' group. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Marie Curie fellow. In 2021 he received a HAS Momentum grant, and hence from 2021 on, he leads the Optimal Transport Research Group at the Rényi Institute.
